Cooking has always been a massive part of my life, honestly, I spend more time in the kitchen than I'd like to admit!
But there's a funny thing about cutting boards:
they're usually the most overlooked tool in the house until you finally get your hands on a good one.
It's one of those little life upgrades you just can't go back from.
In my search for the "perfect" board, I found plenty that were "fine," but none that felt quite right.
I wanted a piece that didn't just work okay and last long, but one that brought a sense of playfulness to the kitchen, something I would genuinely look forward to using every single day.
This piece is designed to let the material speak, bringing a quiet sense of playfulness to everyday rituals.
Hinoki (Japanese cypress) has been used in kitchens across Japan for centuries.
Its natural antibacterial properties, lightness, and gentle resilience make it well suited for daily use.
It also carries a subtle scent and a quiet presence, qualities deeply rooted in Japanese material culture.
I'm so happy to finally share it with you.
Happy cooking!
